Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

That’s terrible, why is that? I specifically arranged in the building contract that construction must start no later than 4 weeks after the building permit / planning permission is granted, and from that point there are 5.5 months to complete the work.

Our construction company wouldn’t have agreed to that. They are local, and at the time we started, they already had a lead time of 9 months, which is probably much longer now.

Then our basement changed from a black tank waterproofing system to a white tank system. The new basement will be subcontracted externally. So now we are waiting for the schedule from Glatthaar. The good thing is that this basement should be completed faster (at least calculated from the start of construction).

However, our contract states a completion time of 9 months. I would have to check carefully whether that applies from the originally agreed date (mid-July to mid-August) or from the new date.

To be honest, I'm also not sure what would happen if this condition is not met.

The construction company initially quoted 6 weeks, but I negotiated it down to 4 weeks. The standard construction period they set themselves was 5.5 months. For any time exceeding that, there is a kind of compensation in percentages, though I don’t remember the exact details offhand.

Winnetou, waiting is completely normal. We received our building permit / planning permission on October 31, 2016. Work on the foundation slab began just before Christmas 2016. Masonry work started in mid-March 2017. After that, progress was steady. Karsten

As mentioned, 4 weeks with me, waiting any longer is not possible.

I’m looking forward to it. I only know that with us, as soon as the basement is done and it’s possible, the masonry work will start immediately. And the tradespeople usually come directly to our site or the neighbor’s (they are also working with the same contractor).
