Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

We borrowed about 10 boxes, two laundry baskets, around 5 banana crates with lids, our travel bags, and trash bags. It worked well to pack in stages, and it forces you to unpack everything right away at the new place. The tip with using trash bags for clothes really works well, as long as you don’t overfill them.

Oh, and also the old boxes from the dishes.

We had, uh, 250 boxes....

What did you do with the empty boxes afterwards? Oo

To me, it sounds more like the relocation of an office building.

We have cleared out a lot: 8m³ (about 282 cubic feet) of bulky waste.
The boxes were rented from the moving company, so they took them all back.
And yes, we have a lot of stuff.

I think 90 boxes are more than enough.

We are only moving 1 km (0.6 miles) away, and we will be making trips with a trailer every evening. Everything should fit just fine. Besides, we don’t have that many household items.
We currently live in a 78 m2 (840 sq ft)
2.5-room apartment.

Ok... there are 3 of us, and we moved from 150m² (1,615 sq ft) to 145m² (1,561 sq ft). It doesn’t really matter, especially when you can gradually take some things with you in advance, which is obviously more convenient.
