Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

After May 2015:

Clear structural height or final clear height?

Final clear height.

I think nobody really sits in a “window seat” like that anyway because it’s uncomfortable. You can place cushions there and it becomes a decorative corner.

Best regards,
Sabine

That’s true. Although I have to say that especially children (mine, but even more so those of visitors) like to sit there and look at picture books. They are close to the parents sitting at the table, but still have their own space.
At parties with many guests, it also provides extra seating.
But yes, it is definitely a nicer windowsill to sit on.
Outside, the wooden deck is connected right at the corner where the dining table will be placed, so it will certainly create a nice view when looking outside.
Our main garden is to the right in the picture...

Our covered terrace. We are building a bungalow with a hipped roof; the terrace is about 40sqm (430 sq ft).

Cat window!
The kids always sit in the cat corner... only the cat table is missing.

Quick question regarding exterior plaster color selection:
Do the colors on the color fan/sample card appear darker, lighter, or the same on the actual surface compared to the card?

My father (a former architect) always says that he usually advised his clients to choose colors at least two shades lighter than what they initially picked themselves. This is because people often underestimate how intense a color can appear when applied over a large surface.
