Hello,
my wife and I are building a house. Construction will begin in two weeks.
I would like to have music in the bathroom and on the terrace, and I am currently considering how to implement this, especially what preliminary work might be required from the electrician or others.
We really enjoy listening to music in the bathroom. At the moment, we use an Amazon Echo connected to our Spotify account. However, in the future, I would prefer to avoid using an additional device in the bathroom and instead use discreet built-in ceiling speakers.
In other words, I want to be able to enter the bathroom, take out my phone, select a Spotify playlist, and play it through the speaker(s) installed there.
I am wondering how this works and what I need for it. Unfortunately, I am a complete beginner when it comes to such setups.
The same applies to the terrace. I would like to have a few outdoor speakers there, which I would also like to play via Spotify. Can anyone help me?

we installed invisible speakers in the ceiling. Additionally, I integrated tactile transducers into the bathtub and the sauna. The music is controlled via a Gira flush-mounted radio with Bluetooth connection. I also ran cables for a possible multiroom system in the distribution panel. I haven’t considered outdoor speakers yet, as the garden has not been started.

Steffen8025 Mar 2019 08:02We have installed 1-2 Canton InCeiling 865 DT speakers each in 3 bathrooms, the living room, bedroom, hallway, and terrace, and we are very satisfied! Great sound (and I am very sensitive to that) and completely unobtrusive. It requires 4 cables of 1.5 m² to 2.5 m² (about 16 to 27 AWG) speaker wire each. Thanks to the Echo Input, Alexa now only speaks through the Canton speakers. It works perfectly. We come home, and Alexa automatically greets us with the most important information through the Canton speakers.
Hello,
thank you very much for your feedback! So, it should be a permanent installation. I have also considered a Sonos speaker placed in a corner of the bathroom. Visually, I like the solution with the Canton InCeiling speakers even more. However, I’m not sure if that would be so easy to install in our home.
I don’t want to say that the sound quality isn’t important to me, but we don’t spend a lot of time in the bathroom. I don’t fit in a bathtub anyway... and my wife doesn’t care for that kind of thing. I simply want to be able to listen to good music while showering! I’m not throwing a party in the bathroom .
I have also thought about invisible speakers. My only question is how durable they are, because if they break or something needs to be fixed, wouldn’t that be a huge effort?
The same applies to the terrace. Here, it’s more about background music when sitting outside with friends...
Edit: Am I correct in understanding that the Canton InCeiling speakers are not Bluetooth-enabled? I would actually like to avoid running speaker cables as well.

I would like to avoid running speaker cables if possible.I'm not Edith, but I can help: Speakers can only be controlled wirelessly if they are active, meaning they have their own amplifier. This is not the case with the Canton InCeiling models. If you are not a sound enthusiast, you might find a solution like this at Vast, for example the model V-BTS580H+.Similar topics
