Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Oh wow. Have you done this before, or is this your main job?

As a layperson, I would never, ever consider doing the concrete slab myself. It’s quite an important structural element after all.

Sorry, I might have expressed myself unclearly. That part has already been done. There will still be plenty of work done by ourselves later on.

I really like the idea, so here are a few pictures from my place before it gets sold.

Modern dark brick house with gray pitched roof, terrace, lawn, and rounded tree canopies.

Modern house with dark metal roof, garden fence, and bare trees in the front yard.

Modern living room with large windows, stone wall behind TV, sofa, rug, and plants.

Modern open-plan kitchen and living area with island, gray sofa lounge, glass table, plants.

I’m a bit confused: isn’t a window seat supposed to be a place where you can sit or relax comfortably while looking outside?
Here, it seems or looks like a) there isn’t enough depth to really lounge, and b) if you’re sitting comfortably at all, it’s only when your back is against the window itself. The window reveal doesn’t seem to allow for much either?!

Then just call it something else. Maybe the term "sitting window" isn’t actually correct, I don’t know...
It’s simply a window you can sit by --> sitting window
It’s more than enough for the cat.

You could have at least shown the view outside; I think in the picture with the too-small bench, there was still a construction site outside.

By the way, how does it usually work with a bench—do you lean against the window or the wall? Wouldn't it make sense to add something to the wall as well to prevent it from getting dirty?
