because it gets dirty very quickly from splashes when cooking and the extraction performance is not very good with taller pots. Huh? If something splashes inside, I just put the cover, filter, and drip tray straight into the sink right after cooking. And yes, with tall pots you have to use the trick of placing the lid slightly ajar, but that’s really not an issue. Other than that, I’m absolutely happy not to have a hood hanging over my head anymore. Even though it can be moved up or down, when cooking it’s usually positioned lower, and I still remember my husband’s constant complaining—he was always bumping his head on the hood while cooking, almost as if by instinct.
I love my Bora – no more husband complaints since!
Although I think it makes a difference whether you have the Basic model with the round cutout (I was skeptical about that too) or the Professional or Classic with the elongated cutout in the middle.

Fummelbrett!30 Mar 2020 12:51Oh... we are installing a €3,000 (approximately $3,200) range hood above a €500 (approximately $535) ceramic cooktop (without induction) built into an IKEA countertop. Well, completely different scales.
Alright, I'll join in now. We have the kitchen cabinets and the induction cooktop/gas hob from Ikea. The countertop was custom-made by a carpenter, and the range hood... well, where is it? Oops, we actually don’t have one. It has been working perfectly for over 3 years in the house and in the 5 years before that in the rental apartment.

Sorry for the off-topic, but could you please give me one reason or advantage why someone would choose ceramic cooktops instead of induction?Off the top of my head, I would say noise and the need for compatible cookware. Also, the purchase price compared to a "regular" ceramic cooktop. And yes, it is reportedly controversial for pregnant women or people with pacemakers.
