Sorry for going off-topic, but can you please give me one reason or advantage for choosing ceramic glass instead of induction?Because I want to. Personally (!), I would feel uncomfortable standing close to an induction cooktop day after day, year after year while cooking. I’m definitely not a conspiracy theorist, but I don’t want to be part of any long-term experiments on myself. I don’t find the difference between ceramic glass and induction that significant for my cooking style—I simply don’t need it. And just because everyone has it now doesn’t mean I automatically have to have it too.

It didn’t convince me, but I’m glad it makes you and especially your spouse happy
Edit: was referring to Climbee’s comment

I wouldn’t switch back to a ceramic cooktop after using induction. It’s much more direct and faster. Even better than gas, plus it’s a lot easier to clean than a gas ceramic cooktop (which is a hassle – my brother has one). The noise is there, no doubt, but it goes away as soon as I finish cooking and doesn’t bother me while cooking. It could be annoying if you’re keeping food warm and sitting at the table, as you might hear it then. But that doesn’t happen in our case.

Nothing came to mind immediately as an advantage.

I doubt people buy it just because neighbors Meier and Müller have it; rather, it offers completely different advantages in terms of speed and temperature control after cooking (especially in households with children).
