Hello everyone,
I am currently facing the challenge of planning a kitchen for the first time. Overall, it’s going well, but I still have a few questions.
I would like to have a ceramic cooktop (Framtid) without an oven! Now the question is: which base cabinet can I use for this? There are special cabinets designed for ovens, but these always include space for an oven. Can I, for example, use a base cabinet intended for a sink? Unfortunately, I have no idea how much space a cooktop without an oven requires.
The second issue is the dishwasher: it is lower than the rest of the kitchen units. What is the best way to even this out? Is it easier to raise the dishwasher, or could it simply be placed on the floor with some kind of panel or trim between the countertop and the dishwasher?
I will get help with the kitchen installation, including suitable tools (for example, to cut the countertop to size). However, I was wondering how the hole for the faucet in the sink is made? I assume it is punched or stamped out!?
Also, it is unclear to me whether the height specifications for the base cabinets include feet or not. Normally, the feet are sold separately, but then the cabinets would seem very tall to me.
I am referring to the standard Faktum units.
I would really appreciate some tips and advice!
Best regards!

Hello
The base cabinets themselves are 70cm (28 inches) high.
The legs are available in 16cm (6 inches) or 21cm (8 inches).
Countertop thickness is 3.9cm (1.5 inches).
Regarding the dishwasher – it’s best to build a custom plinth so that the dishwasher reaches the bottom edge of the countertop!
For the tap hole, there is an inexpensive tool available at Ikea!
Any more questions?

Hello danza
Basically, everyone, if you want drawer units under the cooktop, IKEA recommends leaving the top drawer "blind" due to the risk that cutlery or other items could be damaged (I personally avoided this by installing a wall panel under the cooktop and still use the top drawer in a 3-drawer cabinet – it works perfectly). It is also possible to mount the cooktop across two base cabinets; however, you may need to cut out the top of the side panels if the cooktop is higher than the countertop (so it fits through the countertop).
I hope this helps!
If you have any further questions – I’m online.

The way you phrased your question suggests that you might not have much practical building experience.
All I can do is wish you good luck.
By the way: Ikea does not offer any tools that can be used to drill or punch holes for faucets.
