Happy holiday!
I just registered and have a few questions 🙂
I’m getting a new kitchen in mid to late February and definitely want it from IKEA. However, I’m not sure about the quality of IKEA appliances, and I have already looked at some brand-name products (mainly Gorenje). Can someone tell me if installing these appliances is usually trouble-free? I’ve been to IKEA, and the sales assistant told me I absolutely need to choose a dishwasher from them because of the installation. Is that true? I found this one:

Will that work? So that I can fully integrate it into the base cabinet?
The fridge will go in the back left. Unfortunately, it will stick out a few centimeters (inches) over the window sill, but the window should still be able to open. I chose a different cabinet here because I really want drawers at the bottom and couldn’t find one like that (sorry if I overlooked something), but it should be possible to place the fridge in a standard 200cm (79 inch) tall cabinet at the top, right?
Now I’m stuck... how can I insert photos??? *silly question*

Sektionschef7 Jan 2016 09:27Hello
I only bought the range hood and the cooktop at IKEA.
The range hood is a 60cm (24 inch) under-cabinet model, which is really great and has very good extraction performance.
The cooktop is a 60cm (24 inch) Folklig induction model and was on sale at the time for around 199 euros. I am also very satisfied with it.
For the refrigerator, I got a Beko with a 178cm (70 inch) niche size. It fit without any issues into a 200cm (79 inch) tall cabinet. The oven is from AEG and was also easy to install.
I bought a Siemens dishwasher with a Vario hinge, which cost about 800 euros, but the AEG dishwasher you posted also has a similar sliding hinge and should fit just as well, and it is much cheaper.
The kitchen was about 30% cheaper at IKEA in Bratislava than in Vienna, and the delivery of the entire kitchen from Bratislava to Vienna cost 110 euros. If you live farther away, delivery will naturally cost more, as it was charged per kilometer driven.
Best regards

IKEA-Experte7 Jan 2016 10:28A suitable Siemens dishwasher. Without knowing the desired range of functions, it is hardly possible to make a recommendation for other appliances.
Should the microwave be placed as a freestanding unit inside the cabinet and hidden behind the door?
Having the sink directly next to the tall cabinet is very impractical, but right next to the cooktop is not ideal either. The tall cabinets could be placed side by side, and the cooktop moved to the other side. This would make the area in front of the window feel less cramped. Instead of two 60cm (24 inches) and 20cm (8 inches) cabinets, I would prefer one 80cm (32 inches) cabinet.

Honey04097 Jan 2016 10:34Good morning IKEA expert.
May I post links here to appliances I currently have in mind? I say currently because since I started planning the kitchen, I keep finding others that I like 🙂
The microwave will just go into the cabinet behind a door; I'll use my current one for that.
I had also considered placing the cooktop on the other side, but I would need to plan it out to see how it looks 🙂 I will start working on that right away.

Honey04097 Jan 2016 10:47So now I’m stuck again and hope you can help me!
I’m currently planning to place both tall cabinets—the one for the oven (which I’ll keep where it was originally planned) and the one for the refrigerator—on the right side. Next to them, I would have the dishwasher and then the sink. But… and this is where you come in… how does that work with the water connections? Is it possible without major demolition? What would your ideas be otherwise? The problem is also that I have an under-sink water heater, and during the renovation, I will be getting a new, slightly larger one, but it will still be there.

IKEA-Experte7 Jan 2016 11:33Links are fine, preferably to the manufacturers’ websites.
The door in front of the microwave is most practical as a lift-up flap. This way, it doesn’t stick out into the room when the microwave is in use. IKEA doesn’t offer this, but the fitting can be purchased and installed separately.
How easily the water connection can be relocated without major work depends on the circumstances. Therefore, a plan showing the positions of the connections is advisable.
There are also small under-counter instant water heaters that do not require a three-phase alternating current connection. Check whether this could be an option for you.

I think I would almost prefer it like this.
I don’t have a plan of the connections, and apparently the landlord doesn’t have one either, for whatever reason! I only know where the connections are located.
Right now I have a 5-liter (1.3-gallon) boiler, and to be honest, it’s almost too small. I can’t even fill half the sink, but once I have a dishwasher again later, how often will I really be washing by hand?
Also, can I install the lift-up flap you mentioned onto a standard Ikea cabinet front? That would of course be nicer than using a door, that’s true.
