Hello everyone,
I am currently facing the challenge of planning a kitchen for the first time. Overall, it’s going well, but I still have a few questions.
I would like to have a ceramic cooktop (Framtid) without an oven! Now the question is: which base cabinet can I use for this? There are special cabinets designed for ovens, but these always include space for an oven. Can I, for example, use a base cabinet intended for a sink? Unfortunately, I have no idea how much space a cooktop without an oven requires.
The second issue is the dishwasher: it is lower than the rest of the kitchen units. What is the best way to even this out? Is it easier to raise the dishwasher, or could it simply be placed on the floor with some kind of panel or trim between the countertop and the dishwasher?
I will get help with the kitchen installation, including suitable tools (for example, to cut the countertop to size). However, I was wondering how the hole for the faucet in the sink is made? I assume it is punched or stamped out!?
Also, it is unclear to me whether the height specifications for the base cabinets include feet or not. Normally, the feet are sold separately, but then the cabinets would seem very tall to me.
I am referring to the standard Faktum units.
I would really appreciate some tips and advice!
Best regards!

However, I can’t quite understand your praise for induction cooktops; they are not only incredibly fast but also highly controversial.
If you place a pot that is too small on them, the electromagnetic field can extend about 0.3–0.5 meters (1–1.5 feet) in all directions. Since we are also made of iron, we can be heated too (important for pregnancy concerns).
Therefore, induction cooking is a no-go for me.
There is actually a tool for cutting out holes available at Ikea, but it’s found in the office supplies section, designed for drilling cable tunnels in desks, and is too large for mounting faucets.

fotokatze4 May 2011 00:49Hello zeitgeist!
By the way, the idea that spinach is so healthy because it contains a lot of iron is based on a proven transcription error.
Best regards from fotokatze,

Hello, I’m new here and have a small problem.
Today I received a 40cm (16 inch) cabinet for waste sorting, but unfortunately, I have no idea how to connect the small top front panel with the middle front panel. You wrote here
Unfortunately, no metal rails were included with my cabinet. Or are they only included if you also order the waste bins?

This tall drawer is achieved by screwing together the lower tall and the middle front panels using two supplied metal rails. This ensures that the lower drawer is tall enough to fit the appropriate waste bins inside.
