Hello IKEA expert (or whoever else is reading this message…),
is it possible to achieve this with standard IKEA items, or does it require custom work? And what special materials are needed?

I’m asking because the IKEA fitter is currently at our home installing the countertop and still has a few finishing tasks to do, including the sink/waste bin combination.
At the IKEA store, we were told that it is NOT possible to make the 60x60cm (24x24 inches) drawer look like two separate drawers of 20x60cm (8x24 inches) and 40x60cm (16x24 inches).
I would prefer this look because my partially integrated dishwasher next to the combo has a 20cm (8 inches) high folding mechanism at the bottom, and if the above solution was possible, I would have a uniform appearance that is less visually busy.

So what is correct? Sometimes I get the impression that the IKEA employees themselves are not entirely sure what is possible with Metod and what isn’t…

Hello,
you install an 80x10 cm (31½x4 inches) front under DOMSÖ.
Then, attach a deep 80x45 cm (31½x18 inches) Maximera drawer 002.046.29, to which an 80x60 cm (31½x24 inches) door with Utrusta 202.699.31 or an 80x40 cm (31½x16 inches) door connected with an 80x20 cm (31½x8 inches) drawer front is fixed. For push-to-open function, the UTRUSTA 702.272.36 is installed inside the cabinet.

Thank you, Ikea expert!
Is this also possible with the domsjö base cabinet with 2 doors, or which base cabinet should I use?

Do I definitely need UTRUSTA 202.699.31?
It was sold out today, and no one at IKEA knew if you can manage without it.

That depends on whether there is a large hole saw drill hole where you need to screw something on the front.
