So... here I am again!

I actually wanted to share the plan of our IKEA Metod kitchen here, but I just can't manage to link my kitchen layout.
I've tried several times now. Could someone help me?

Best regards,
Frosch

You can do it that way; just carefully consider whether having the cut-out corner on the side of the cooktop fits your workflow.

I would prefer the "recessed area".....

If you want to shorten the "drawer units," be careful to ensure that the drawer slides can still be properly installed—I would shorten the top ones, so the bottom has the same visual drawer line, and you only need to adjust the front panel of the top drawer. But you’re building the doors/fronts yourself anyway.

It’s good that you’re now planning with dead corners; otherwise, it would be very difficult.

Thank you both very much!

So, yesterday we went to IKEA again and had a very friendly employee help us review the plan once more. She even drew everything exactly the way I wanted but couldn’t manage myself! 😉

We "sketched" the sink area, but honestly, I don’t like it at all. I have 80cm (31.5 inches) of workspace on each side of the stove, which is already twice as much as in my current kitchen! 🙂

We wanted to cut the 😀 DRAWER UNIT 😀 exactly like this, with the lower plinth and bottom drawer aligned in one continuous line like all the others, and only the top "missing" a bit! 🙂

Surprisingly, we have now decided on a narrow countertop (2.8cm (1.1 inches)) — either dark oak veneer or the dark concrete pattern. We immediately need a custom-sized slab because we are over the standard dimensions. So as soon as we have a floor tile and part of the front, we will go to IKEA and see which option fits better! I find the wood more beautiful; it just feels warmer... but more wood in the house? We already have so much... tricky, tricky.

It still seems strange to me that the left corner is supposed to be lowered. If I imagine you working to the right of the stove, with everything quite crowded, needing a bit more space, you push things to the right and something falls into the lowered corner. If only the countertop in front of the window between the two rows is lower, then "in an emergency nothing will fall high into the corner."

... because sometimes you can’t see the forest for the trees ... :

I just looked at your plan again, and a simple new idea came to me. Regarding your window issue (is there perhaps a radiator underneath?), there’s a straightforward solution: completely omit the base cabinets under the window and extend the two kitchen runs all the way to the corner. In terms of storage space, it’s practically the same, and you avoid any height problems. You also won’t need to make corner panels. At the end of the run, you could probably fit an 80cm (32 inches) wide drawer unit 😉 and extend shelves for your cookbooks into the corner. If this were our kitchen, I’d prefer to do it this way.

You could maybe use the free space in front of the window for a small table with two chairs. In our kitchen, we have a very narrow table attached to the kitchen counter, fixed to the wall with a support leg up front, and it fits two to three chairs. We use it often—sometimes for breakfast, or in the evening for a small kitchen gathering, for example now with tarte flambée and Federweisser. It’s a cozy spot to hang out and wait for the next tarte flambée to come out of the oven.

We don’t like dark countertops. If you research a bit, the darker the surface, the more and more easily you’ll see dirt and especially signs of wear like small scratches.

... and you can never have enough workspace. It’s not just about food prep—usually there are plenty of appliances on the counter: stand mixer, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine—everyone has different items that need to be ready at all times.

That's right, if the additional countertop space is not really needed, this is the best solution. The window can also be opened more easily.
