Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Looks great, and if you build the built-in closet the same way, even better. I saw an IKEA hack months ago where the built-in closet was done exactly like your wall.

Very good idea :-)
I haven’t really thought about that yet.
The built-in wardrobe has already been ordered and should arrive next week or the week after.
I need to start thinking about it.

Cool idea, we built something like that as a wall unit in the hallway outside the children's rooms.
Would you like to show us the wall?(......)

The home office project has started 🙂.
Wall cladding with a bit of a twist.
Decorative coated 19mm (3/4 inch) chipboard panels arranged in a self-designed pattern.
Mounted on the wall using Z-profiles and can be removed at any time.
I'm currently wondering if something like this could be done with doors from IKEA, for example Besta. Your chipboard panels: did they feel heavy or light? The Besta doors do have their weight… 🙄

A 19mm (3/4 inch) chipboard would weigh approximately 12kg/m² (2.5 lbs/ft²).
If you choose custom dimensions, the panels will need to be cut to size, and edge banding will have to be applied to the edges.
Without edge banding, the appearance will be poor.
I don’t think the weight will be an issue.
You could also consider gluing them in place.

@tomtom79 do you happen to have a link or search term for me? Thanks
