Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The flat roof installer finally came today. 🙂

In the meantime, I have temporarily installed the Hue LED strip. It still needs to be properly wired and hidden behind a wooden trim, so it will become fully indirect lighting.

Modern white facade with open wooden pergola, seating area, and stone wall in the garden.

Modern white two-story house facade with wooden pergola, terrace, and garden furniture.

Covered wooden veranda at dusk; warm yellow light, snow-covered garden with furniture.

Terrace of a modern house lit at night with dining table and chairs; snow on the ground.

Does the wood appearance remain? And what was the cost of the roofing?

Yes. The wood will remain, possibly with a coating applied in spring; I still need to decide on that.
The wooden structure cost €8,300, and the waterproofing €3,200.
Greening will be added later, which costs about €2,200.
That would total approximately €13,700.

Thanks 🙂
Would you like to describe which components it is made of?
Since it is a wall-to-wall built-in wardrobe for the children’s hallway, the components probably won’t fit your space. What my wife, who came up with the idea and carried out the build, did was cut out paper patterns of the components available at Ikea. These were then rearranged like a puzzle until everything fit. You need a bit of patience and imagination... Enjoy both the puzzle process and the final result 🙂

@Traumfaenger
Thanks for the information 🙂
Do you happen to have an overview of which cabinets from Ikea were used in your project?
At least a rough idea, since I basically only know the Pax cabinets, and those are far from being floor-to-ceiling.

I would guess it’s the kitchen cabinets.
