Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

After about six months of more or less no progress, an electrician finally came and completed the rough wiring for the kitchen and living room, so now we can start plastering. Let’s see if we manage to do it...

Interior construction site: stacked lime/cement bags, buckets, brick walls, windows.

Construction site: room with raw concrete walls, wooden ceiling beams and visible cables

Unfinished construction room with green marking lines, window and box with bottles.

Are you using Hessler HP90 for your exterior render? What grain size are you using?
We applied HP90 with a 1 mm (0.04 inches) grain size to our walls at the beginning of January.

We rendered our walls with HP90, 1 mm (0.04 inches), in early January.

Yes, exactly, we use 0.5 mm (0.02 inches).

Do you have any application tips? Photos of the final result?

As for application, I can only say: follow the instructions on the bucket. 🙂

But I do have a tip:
It’s best to use a white mixing bucket. With black buckets, there’s always a risk that some of the black plastic might come off when mixing and get onto the plaster on the wall.

Here are a few pictures. Although pictures of a white wall are always somewhat unflattering. 🙂

On day 3, I managed to break my foot on the last 20cm (8 inches) step of the scaffolding. So, I’m not allowed to continue building for now and will update online instead ;D
Get well soon. I was already waiting for an update. I also quite like the house 🙂

For me, a big moment I have been waiting for at least three years. 🙂 Finally, our first house photos, even though the house is not finished yet and there isn’t much to see because it is still covered in scaffolding. So far, I think the house turned out well, even if it is not original or special; a simple house that appeals to me because of its plainness, and that I find attractive for that reason. I no longer mind the decision to forgo the divided-light windows and doors for financial reasons.

As mentioned in other threads, due to rising construction costs and because my husband (the Ponderosa type) and I (the Mini-Neuschwanstein type) have very different tastes, we had to make many compromises. All the more reason I am happy with the result. Now I hope the exterior paint color is as light as I remember it, and not as dark as it looks online. On top of that will be a warm red roof, which unfortunately will be “decorated” with inside-mounted solar panels on two sides (a total of 12m² (130 sq ft)).

On Monday morning (03/21/22), there was nothing here at all; these photos were taken yesterday afternoon (03/22/22). This is the back of the house facing the garden; more photos will follow.
