By waiting 2-3 years before applying the finishing plaster, only minor settlement and drying cracks develop in the base coat. The top coat will later cover these and itself remains crack-free. This method is commonly used in our region.
Two well-known painters and plasterers have also confirmed this approach to me as reasonable. Thanks for the information, sounds plausible.
