Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

What kind of tree is it?

It is a "Catalpa bignonioides Nana," also known as the "dwarf trumpet tree."

I really like it, Daniels87. Our house seemed much smaller to me once the massive scaffolding was finally removed.

We plan to sow next week, and the carport still needs to be installed. Paving has been postponed to 2017.

I really like your house.
May I ask a few details?

Recommendation from the site manager and the plasterer.
By waiting 2-3 years before applying the finishing plaster, only minor settlement and drying cracks develop in the base coat. The top coat will later cover these and itself remains crack-free. This method is commonly used in our region.

Two well-known painters and plasterers have also confirmed this approach to me as reasonable.

Thanks for the information, sounds plausible.

Is the staircase allowed like this without a handrail?

Why not? We needed a separate building permit / planning permission for the staircase because it is outside the building envelope. And we built it exactly as we applied for.

This may vary from state to state, but it is noticeable that there is no handrail.
