Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

You have really made incredible progress, Teyla. *Respect*

Do you think so? Those 1.5 years felt incredibly long to me. Every weekend working on the house and hardly any time for anything else.

I’m so glad that there will finally be less work outside, and hopefully I’ll finally have time to do a proper cleaning inside. Over the past few months, it was always reduced to the bare minimum. ops

If my dad weren’t retired, we wouldn’t have gotten this much done so quickly. Otherwise, it would probably still take years since we couldn’t afford to have companies do the work for us.

Today the scaffolding was removed. Now the whole thing looks somehow strangely bare. But also bigger!

Two-story white house with dark windows and roof; construction area in front.

Hello Daniels87, I think the solution with the dark stripe on the upper floor is quite clever. It visually conceals the irregular window arrangement. Will the same color be used again on the base? Best regards, Steffi.

I really like it, Daniels87. Our house seemed much smaller to me once the massive scaffolding was finally gone.

We plan to sow the lawn next week, and the carport still needs to be installed. Paving has been postponed to 2017.

White single-family house with dark pitched roof, gabion wall, and two cars on the right.

Hello Steffi, we're not sure yet about the base. It will either be gray like the underside of the roof or anthracite.

@MissFilou: When I stand next to the house, it looks very tall now; it didn’t feel that way with the scaffolding. But once the ground is filled in and the terrace/cold conservatory and entrance canopy are added, it will definitely look better.

Your place already looks really neat and harmonious! Did you have to buy a lot of topsoil? Or was the original site like that?
