The lawn was the second most affordable option at our DIY store. We had unfiltered topsoil delivered, which we loosened with a motorized tiller and leveled out by removing the stones.
Besides that, we had a lot of rain and fairly warm temperatures. This, of course, accelerated growth.
What do you mean by garden? Like with flowers and such? No, that’s not really for us... We probably won’t be creating flower beds.
On one side, we planted 10 hibiscus shrubs. They haven’t grown much yet and aren’t blooming at all. On the other side, there’s nothing yet because we are still considering various options and will finish that area next year once the road construction is completed.
Other than that, we’re waiting for the delivery of two raised beds for vegetables and herbs.

daniels876 Sep 2016 19:15Now that we are finally "done and dusted" (well… except for a few small details), I’d like to share our house (now finally with a carport) once again.
The carport still only needs the interior paint; otherwise, we are basically finished for now.
My dad (retired) built the entire carport himself; unfortunately, we could only help during holidays and weekends. It took about 3 months in total.
If anyone is interested, I have documented the carport build in detail on my blog.
For now, I’m just glad we’re finally finished. The garden also desperately needs weeding again. That was unfortunately completely neglected over the past few weeks, and there were quite a lot of weeds in the delivered topsoil.
We’ll see if boredom sets in now, or what’s up next…
