Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Regarding the thermal break and the described procedure....

You could build the canopy out of wood, it wouldn’t look any different, right?

That was the point of my question....
Would it be possible to build it entirely from wood "afterwards" and perhaps even cheaper than using a thermal break plus cladding later on!?

...unless you want the canopy to be exposed concrete anyway...

With the pitched roof added on top, it would certainly have been possible to build it entirely from wood. However, whether that would have been significantly cheaper is hard to say – most likely not.

Regarding the Isokorb and the described procedure ....

You could have just said it like that from the start (speaking in full sentences).

It seems to me the term Isokorb has been misunderstood here (?),
it is not the cantilevered element itself, but the trademark of the company Schöck for a thermal break element between the floor slab and the cantilever.

I agree with the assumption that the same visual effect could also have been achieved with a timber instead of a concrete construction.

However, a free-standing support is not structurally straightforward, even without significant snow load.

@gmt94: Are the window frames turquoise, or does it just look that way because of a protective film?

@11ant

Good morning, no, it only looks that way because of the protective film. All the windows are RAL 7016, but they still have the white protective film from the manufacturer on them, plus the blue protective film from the plasterer.

Here is an update...

The paving work is in full progress. The tiler has started.

Also, here is a picture of the clinker brick
