Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

So, here are some new photos from us again.
The flooring is now about 95% installed, the walls are painted, the lighting is in place both inside and outside, stair lighting, railings, interior doors, and the walk-in closet are finished, so we can already start moving some things in.

At night in front of the garage: car with open trunk, other vehicles nearby, lighting.

White door with four panels indoors; door handle visible, socket on the left, unfinished floor.

White interior hallway with closed door, left stair handrail, and dark carpets.

Modern living room: white door with frosted glass horizontal stripes, warm light behind, fireplace to the left.

Walk-in closet with mirrored sliding doors, white interior, and dark carpet.

Stair steps under construction, LED light strips on edges, boxes on the right.

Interior staircase: white walls, concrete steps, silver railing on the right.

Today, the first 305mm (12 inches) caliber tubes were installed.

Tomorrow, another 8 pieces will follow. After that, approximately 50m² (540ft²) of stepped natural stone wall will be built.

Construction site with open excavation, concrete walls, cables, and rubble in front of the building.

Which subforum would you suggest where the question might be better placed?

After an unsuccessful search in the forum, I would either start a thread titled "Brick-Faced Urban Villa - Ideas and Pictures" in Planning/Concepts or Building Materials/Tools.

We are currently looking for a suitable facing brick for a city villa.

Just before your question, @blaupuma posted—his house can be seen with very little scrolling here. Is his grey brick too light and/or not speckled enough for you?

The topic of brick color tones came up here recently—as it does quite regularly—at this thread: https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/Abweichungen-b-plan-Klinker-Erfahrung.30021/—especially post #22 is worth reading.

Alternatively, you could also check out these threads: https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/welcher-Anbieter-für-Klinker-bietet-weissgraue-Steine-an.18770/, https://www.hausbau-forum.de/posts/247429/, or https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/Anbieter-für-Klinkersteine-gesucht-roeben-hagemeister-usw.26664/.

Besides much of what others and I have already shared there, I’d specifically like to point out something about “lively color variations”: this absolutely requires an experienced professional during installation, as it takes skill to handle. If done by trainees—or worse, under poor lighting—the results can be disastrous.

May I ask how your entrance canopy was constructed?
Was it installed as a precast concrete element during the shell construction, or added later using wood or similar materials?

Thank you

It was done during the shell construction with an Isokorb thermal break... see picture
