Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

After May 2015:

Hello, I’m using this thread to ask a question. We are currently looking for a suitable facing brick for a city villa. It’s so difficult because the ones I liked so far looked perfect on a one-and-a-half-story house but appeared completely unsuitable on the large facade of a city villa. At the moment, we are favoring the Aquaterre saline grey facing brick from ABC. However, it still seems a bit too plain to me or slightly too beige. Ideally, I am looking for a facing brick that leans more towards grey and is a bit more "colorful," meaning it includes some lighter and darker bricks as well. As I said, I liked many bricks on houses with pitched roofs, but not for the city villa.
Maybe someone would like to share a photo of their house facade that is
a) beige, grey, and not too dark, and
b) ideally a city villa.

Best regards ☺

So. The photo below shows the brick we have chosen so far. I think it looks nice, but maybe it lacks that certain something. My husband doesn’t want a mixed facade combined with white plaster. The other one, a gray-multicolored brick, is the type I would like to see used on a whole house, but unfortunately, I can’t find it like that in the local building areas...

A specific question about facing bricks doesn’t belong in a general picture thread at all. Also, a little browsing would help.

Well, I actually skimmed through many of the 817 pages.
But maybe someone who reads this and thinks of their own brick-clad house might want to share it for inspiration. Of course, it’s up to everyone individually.
Which subforum would you suggest might be a better place to post the question?

Just enter a) and b) into Google and use the image search. You'll get so many results you'll feel dizzy.

Sorry, wrong thread.

We are making progress again....

The window sills have been installed.

Plastic windows in shell construction with stone window sill, scaffolding outside and forest view.

The drywall installer has installed the insulation along with the vapor barrier.

Interior view of an unfinished wall: brick wall, wooden studs, blue construction tarp, window opening.

Since last week, the electricians have been hard at work.

Shell construction site: open brick walls, many cables on the floor, visible passage.

Unplastered interior wall made of red bricks; cable duct with sockets and cables, window on the right.

Construction room with tangled cables, spool of wire on wooden support, multiple sockets on brick wall.

Shell construction: brick walls with exposed cables, cable ducts and electrical installation.

The interior plastering is planned for next week.
