Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

I didn’t find any roller shutter boxes in your pictures.

I would guess they are external venetian blinds, possibly integrated into the façade.

Edit: Sorry, I was too slow. Please ignore this post [emoji51]

Thanks. It’s quite possible that it’s located fairly centrally on the main road towards the Rhön region. What brought you there? There’s no snow for winter sports.
On that day, we had two appointments to look at hardwood flooring – one in Gefäll and one in Nüdlingen near Bad Kissingen.
And as I was passing through, I thought to myself: “Hey, I’ve seen that house somewhere in the forum before.”

What a great coincidence.

But it’s nice to see that we’re not the only ones building outside the “big” cities or metropolitan areas.
For us, it’s always comforting to be able to come home to the countryside after work.

Do you live nearby or are you building with Wolf Haus?
Our hardwood flooring is also coming from Nüdlingen. It should be installed next week.

I really enjoyed the city in my early 20s during my more energetic phase. I lived in Augsburg for a few years.
Now I prefer the countryside.
Quiet, peaceful, break-ins are almost unheard of, crime is barely an issue, and with children it’s simply unbeatable. Garden, space, no waiting lists for daycare or similar, and no one minds the noise.

But for me, a lot would have to change for me to install those worn-out tiles from the ’90s, where every speck of dust really makes the surface look unkempt, in a room.

What’s so bad about them – the size or the fact that they are white? I think you can quickly get tired of those large-format tiles in gray-brown tones everywhere. Having one uniform style even within a single floor seems less appealing to me than mixing in some different options, which were also available in earlier decades.

It’s clearly stated: everything shows on them. (I had them once)
I never said that jumbo tiles are the only way to go.

But definitely, a continuous tile surface looks more spacious and elegant overall.

The bargain price of 9.90 compared to the main tile might save a few hundred over the whole area, but I bet you’ll regret that later.

Here, opinions are expressed very bluntly.

I’m also not a fan of mixing different floor coverings, especially when it gets so chaotic, but to each their own. I like most of it.
