I wanted to share our house (143 sqm (about 1540 sq ft) over 2 floors plus basement) after having asked the community several questions over the past two years.

We (2 adults, 2 children) have been living in the house since August 2017. The photos were taken about 2 weeks before handover; by now, the fence is up and the lawn is lush and green.

Basically, we took some suggestions from the forum but are really glad we didn’t implement everything that was criticized, for example:

- Window arrangement (we tried to maintain symmetry but didn’t want to ignore everyday practical use, after all, we live IN the house)
- Inside, the corridor was predicted to be a long dark tunnel... but it isn’t
- The main entrance “under the roof” between garage and house was predicted to be too dark and hard to find. Nobody can find the entrance, etc... We LOVE our entrance. We can lock the gate up front; during summer, autumn, and winter, you can stand by the door, chat with visitors, have a glass of wine, leave drinks or shoes outside without them getting wet. The kids can wait outside without getting rained on... Up above there is also storage space under the garage for sleds, summer chairs, and so on... We are really glad we didn’t let ourselves be swayed.

Basically, we took some ideas from the forum but are very glad we didn’t implement everything people criticized, for example:

- Window arrangement (we tried to maintain symmetry but didn’t want to sacrifice practical everyday use, after all, we live IN the house)
- Inside, the hallway was predicted to be a long, dark corridor... but that was not the case
- The covered entrance between the garage and the house was predicted to be too dark, with no one finding the front door, etc. We LOVE our entrance; we can lock the gate, and in summer, autumn, and winter, we stand in front of the door, chat with visitors, have a glass of wine, put drinks or shoes outside without them getting wet, and the kids can wait outside without getting rained on… Upstairs there’s still storage space under the garage for sleds, summer chairs, and so on. We’re very happy we didn’t let these doubts sway us.
