So, the building looks really huge in the picture. It’s probably because of the basement. So, what will it actually be? It’s hard to contain the excitement! At least share some basic details: roof style, total square meters, heating, flooring, number of bathrooms and rooms—things like that.I have already shared some information in previous posts, but I’ll gladly summarize it here again.
When completed, we hope to have a single-family house with a total living area of 176 m² (1,895 sq ft) spread over two floors. Since the house will have an open staircase from the top floor down to the basement, there will be an additional 12 m² (129 sq ft) of living space in front of the basement rooms.
The layout is:
Ground floor: hallway, kitchen, pantry, dining room, living room, office, shower, and toilet.
Upstairs there are three rooms in addition to the bathroom.
What you can currently see in the pictures is only the basemented "main house." On the south side (street side), there will be a living room extension. On the east side, an office extension will be added.
The office will have a flat roof, as will the living room extension, which is planned to include a rooftop terrace. The main house will be covered by a pyramid hip roof.
We will use geothermal heating. The drilling will take place as soon as the basement is insulated and the excavation pit is backfilled.
The flooring in the house will be tiles and luxury vinyl plank.
Upstairs there is a large bathroom. On the ground floor, there is a shower and toilet. Both showers are set in built-in niches and are level with the floor.
One special feature will be the ceiling height in the office extension. The rough construction height is 3.50 m (11.5 ft). After screed and flooring are installed, about 3.30 m (10.8 ft) will remain. Plenty of space for books, then.
I hope this answers all questions for now and that the curiosity about how everything will turn out remains.
Best regards
Axel
Power Outlets.
I hate missing power outlets, extension cords, and the like.
The one next to the toilet was a recommendation from the architect. Since more and more toilets require electricity, it’s good to have it installed there.
The flooring is oak parquet. It will still be sanded and sealed.
These are 2x2 power outlets in the floor for a laptop, raclette grill, etc.
