Hello everyone,
I wanted to hear your opinions and experiences regarding a separate home theater. What advantages and disadvantages do you see? The TV would then be removed from the living room.
On one hand, we want a bright living room, but watching TV in the dark is more enjoyable.

If you’re not really into TV watching, why even consider a home theater?
And you can still have a bright room—do you watch movies during the day?
Somehow that doesn’t quite add up 😉
I’ve wired my home theater setup right in the living room because if we do watch a movie, it’s usually just a short, cozy evening together.

nordanney11 Oct 2015 21:10With children, a home theater doesn’t belong in the living room – the noise that spreads throughout the house is too high. So, the basement is the best place. If there is no basement, then there’s no real home theater.
A small 5.1 setup in the living room is still okay – but a home theater is much more fun 😉
Unfortunately, we only have the small setup in the living room ourselves 🙁

Is a dedicated home theater planned, or just a kind of TV room?
I know several people who have it that way, but I find it unnecessary. These days, a TV doesn’t really take up much space—unless you want a full cinema experience ;-) But for the other option, you need a separate room, which takes up space again.
