It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Sure, with painter’s fleece and cardboard as protection, I don’t expect any problems. However, I will probably keep the hallway, where the last tradespeople (plumber, glazier, electrician) still need to pass through, clear for now.

My experience with masking is that the tape tends to shift somewhere, and of course, that's exactly where you end up spilling. In any case, I will start with painting first...

No, it’s the staircase from the upper floor to the attic. However, I have probably taken a photo of the entrance as well...

Oh yes, the exterior staircase leads to the upper (rented) residential unit. My door is directly underneath. It is a semi-detached house with a total of 4 residential units.
