Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

@Tarnari, please upload the upper floor plan again where the stairs to the playroom can be seen.

No, the walk-in closet is not a storage room. Whether the bedroom and child’s room 2 will stay as they are is not final yet. We might still swap them 🙂 Although the view from the bedroom is tempting, since it looks directly out onto a forest.
I just read “Wand” (wall) instead of “Wald” (forest) and thought, “What’s so great about that?” 😀

Actually, we also have a nice view from the bedroom. But today, I wouldn’t prioritize it that much. We spend very little time in the bedroom during daylight hours.

@Tarnari: Could you share some information about the stair cabinets? Where did you get them? Maybe also a picture showing them open or installed?

Here is the picture…

Here are two more pictures from the room above the children's room. The room behind the door is located above the bedroom.

@Tarnari The staircase to the attic is amazing! The cabinet and railing too!

That’s exactly how we wanted it as well, but the stair builder refused to make the quarter-turn steps come to such a sharp point at the corner, because the tread depth on the inside of the turn would become too small (in fact, zero), which is uncomfortable and unsafe to walk on. For a secondary staircase like yours, I might have insisted, but for our main staircase from the ground floor to the first floor… what can I say? The guy was right! And I’m happy with the softened version, both functionally and visually:

I’m just thinking about my little climber... I’d be worried about the stair shelf over there in the back—it goes down quite deep. Otherwise, it’s great!
