So, we finally have a handrail installed on the staircase:
And the railings on the two stair closets – the kid’s room and the bedroom in the attic – are finally in place:
The carpenter also built a bathroom cabinet in the niche for us.
That’s awesome! As far as I remember, this is the first house in this forum that completely matches my taste. One hundred percent, there isn’t a single detail I don’t like. It has turned out really well!

@Tarnari: Can you say something about the stair cupboards? Where did you get them? Maybe also a picture of them open or installed? The idea came from wanting to use the two rooms in the attic but not waste space on a traditional staircase or have a classic folding ladder. Our little one should be able to use the room above her bedroom as a playroom and later, if she wants, as a bedroom.
The room above the bedroom is currently used as storage but could easily be used as a reading room or something else.
They were custom made by a woodworking company.
I can gladly share photos later.
Basically, you understood that correctly.
The attic has a partition wall and therefore consists of two rooms, each accessible through a separate staircase closet. However, there is a door in the partition wall that connects both rooms. This had to be done because of the emergency escape route, as the larger room has a roof window used as a firefighter access.
