Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Looks just like a stylish railing, doesn’t it?!

We still have a few ongoing projects, but since last week one more is now completed! Our sauna finally has its door installed!

Sauna with wooden bench behind glass wall; winter forest visible outside.

Bathroom behind open wooden door: bathtub, shelves, dark tiles, bright window.

Until now, we made do with a curtain, but with the glass door it’s naturally much nicer and brighter inside the sauna.

@Bookstar Yes, it will stay that way! The staircase is a folded plate stair and is braced using this railing. We didn’t want a solid wall in this area because we wanted to direct some light from the attic window into the ground floor hallway. Glass would have been another option, but to us, that felt too cold.

The scaffolding is coming down first. Exterior plastering is planned for around March. Next week, the painters will already start inside! House 2 is also rented out from May; we didn’t even have to advertise.

Really cool! How far along are you inside for the painter to start already? In the past few weeks, I have postponed the painter twice. Originally, the start was planned for week 4, then this week, and now it’s moving to next week because the plumber and tiler are so slow. I would really like them to be almost finished first…

I’m following the construction schedule. The interior plastering is done and almost dry, the electrician has installed the boxes, and the rough-in plumbing is complete. The screed drying will be finished by the end of this week. The drywall installer will do the joint compound work this week. After a week of painting, the tile setter will start; these tasks will overlap. The painters will also be busy for a while, filling ceiling joints, then applying and sanding a full coat on ceilings and walls, followed by installing fleece everywhere, and finally the paint. I can hardly wait for it to look a bit more “finished”... and I’m really looking forward to the exterior plaster as well.
