Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Josephine, we have completely opposite tastes.
Your kitchen gives me the shivers (probably it will be the other way around once I get my kitchen).
But I hope it is well crafted and that you enjoy it.

You guys are moving fast now. When is your move-in date?

We really like it and are happy with our little house.

Of course, tastes differ. I can also appreciate something nice in "neutral" and/or "modern" kitchens, I’m quite open. But my own kitchen should be exactly as it is now—and it wasn’t first seen at the kitchen showroom, it was really my sweetheart’s choice.

The move-in is planned for next week since the school holidays in Rhineland-Palatinate start then.

May I ask how old you are? I’d probably throw my other half out if they tried to impose such a kitchen on me. But I guess it’s a generational thing—my grandmother would probably like it too.

I don’t think so. My generation is late 1980s, so definitely not grandma’s. It’s more about personal preferences and ideas.

Congratulations on the kitchen! I think it’s great—lots of space and a nice front. I would have liked one like that too, but I know how ambitious I am about cleaning, so mine will have smooth fronts. Those floor tiles are exactly my style. Wishing you happy cooking always!

Thank you very much! I know the cleaning effort from home, it never bothered me. And we skipped the crown molding—that could have been even more.

It says: 28 years old.
I am at an age where Josephine could be my daughter, and I also have a completely opposite kitchen design, so it’s not a generational thing but a matter of taste, which fortunately can vary.
Still, the kitchen looks cohesive and very successful!

I’m sure there are things I would find outdated in your kitchen, maybe your need to have a kitchen island or something like that. So everything is relative!

Thank you very much for the kind words!

I find the kitchen very harmonious. It fits well with what has been seen of the house so far.

That was/is our effort. We are very happy with everything and really appreciate every “old-fashioned” little piece in the puzzle...

Ours are also hardcore outdoor cats but have a pretty limited territory, fortunately in exactly the opposite direction from where we are moving. So, they definitely haven't been to the area we're moving to yet. Still, I am a bit anxious about the move. Until now, they had free access to the fields behind the house with no traffic. Now we are moving to a residential neighborhood without the possibility to just go out into “nature.”

But I hope we can convince them to stay with us. We are tempting them with tasty food and a new scratching post with two hammocks.
When did you buy the new scratching post... Are you aware that this actually stresses cats a lot and is therefore more of a con in this pro list?

I would keep them inside for at least 6 weeks.

Finally, it’s starting. And yes: more than just one house will be built here

An excavator in its natural environment is definitely the most impressive sight.

The kitchen was installed today and we are thrilled...
Hi, did you also choose a Miele entry-level stove instead of a luxury Neff stove at the same price?

You mean the stove?
We have this one too, and it does everything we need.
What more could you want?
