Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The idea that Miele is the ultimate brand is also a leftover from the 1990s, like Bosch, Vorwerk, and others.
I prefer a Neff appliance with steam function, automatic programs, pyrolysis, and a retractable door, rather than a Miele device that can only be turned on and off.
After 10 years, if both are broken, you end up buying a new one anyway.

Because of the Twistpad, we decided against Neff for induction.
Huh? I don’t understand. Neff also offers touch slider controls.

I didn’t like the twist pad. Brands don’t matter to me or my husband. At the kitchen showroom, we simply tried out different induction cooktops and chose the one we liked best.

White staircase with wooden steps, each step marked with masking tape edge lines.

In terms of cost, it’s probably about the same whether you buy cheaper appliances every 2-3 years and replace them, or invest once in a higher-quality product that lasts longer.

However, for example, the temperature control on Miele appliances is significantly better than that of BSH and therefore Neff.

And to stay on topic, here is also a photo of the staircase under construction...

However, for example, the temperature control on Miele appliances is clearly better than that of BSH and therefore Neff.

But are we still talking about Neff here? Or have we unnoticed switched over to Gorenje and similar brands? (Which, by the way, also tend to last well beyond 2-3 years.)
BSH is far less uniform than often assumed; only Bosch and Siemens models are generally the same. Neff is positioned completely differently, with different appliances and features available. And someone should tell a Gaggenau customer that BSH’s temperature distribution is generally poor. This also does not show up in daily use or test results for the other (well-established) BSH brands. At least not to an extent that would justify the price difference.

Calling Neff a low-budget brand is somewhat questionable in my opinion...
