I’m curious about underfloor heating without a screed... how is proper heat transfer supposed to occur in that case?

Your basement looks just like our house. Cross-laminated solid wood panels.
Maybe we should show this to our architect.

So, my partner was there all day and actually started taking photos early in the morning, while I couldn’t yet (because I was waiting for the vet to vaccinate our pet cats).

At that time, they were still waiting for the truck:

The wood and the vapor barrier directly on it? If a root were to damage the vapor barrier, the basement would start to rot.

So, today we officially started. First, we built the construction access road and partly removed roots.

Looks like a great plot of land! Could we get a photo of the entire site including the surrounding landscape? It looks stunning!

The natural stone-paved path at the front: can you keep it, or does it need to be removed?
