Do these pipes run inside a service shaft, or are recesses made in the walls similar to those for electrical cables? The heating engineer is currently planning everything and asked me where we want to run the ventilation ductwork from the unit in the basement upwards, which of course takes up some space. I would prefer to route everything in one shaft—ventilation, water/wastewater, and the wiring for the photovoltaic system.

In our building, utility lines run through drywall partitions. These walls then serve as something like “exterior walls” for built-in cupboards or similar spaces (I hope that makes sense). So, no recesses or boxed-in sections were made in the actual exterior walls.

I wouldn’t have any concerns about installing that partition wall as a service wall—just as I would do in the bathrooms: the drywall panels would line up perfectly, meaning they would only need to be full height. There would then be a single ceiling opening beneath the sink. But judging by your architect, I’m sure this has already been planned accordingly.
