Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Hey Marco, is that an ash wood staircase? If so, do you have any pictures of it unpacked? I really like it, especially combined with the flooring. Best regards.

I learned the term "coffee grinder" in connection with house construction from you;

The coffee grinder house features a steeper roof pitch. There is often a dormer on the roof as well.

Yes, we would have preferred a steeper/greater roof pitch. That was one of our mistakes. We couldn’t really imagine it properly, and on the architect’s drawings, our roof appeared "steeper" than it actually feels now. It’s a pity—if I had known the “coffee mill” house type beforehand, it would have been clearer to us and we could have provided a specific example. Well, just one of our mistakes… we live with it (and later live in it 😉).

I just realize that during part of the construction phase, out of frustration (?), I just wanted "any" house with a roof so I could move in and have it all over with. Now I’m nitpicking again, but I’ll try to stop that right away. 🙂

What roof pitch do you have? Are there any pictures? 😎

Our roof pitch is 30° (raised from the standard 22° for about 2,000 euros). Posts #11,237 and #11,238 in this thread show more photos of our house.

We also have 30° and are very happy about it. This gives us a very usable large attic of over 21 m² (226 sq ft) with a full standing height of 2.50 m (8 ft 2 in). 😎
