WaldifixHello dear building community
It has been quite a while since school math, so I just can’t seem to figure out the correct calculation for the bed distance.
What distance from the wall do I have for the head of a bed that is 1.20m (4 feet) high, with a knee wall height of 1.00m (3 feet 3 inches) and a roof pitch of 38°?
Thanks in advance for your help

For those who struggle with math, simpler:
Draw and measure to scale accurately
You’ll get pretty close! Thanks, that’s exactly what I had in mind too, but unfortunately I don’t have a protractor on hand to draw the roof pitch correctly ^^
Then just google the term "calculate slope degrees."
You’ll find a calculator where you can enter height and degrees, and it will give you the length.
You want a height gain of 0.2m (8 inches) at 38° and want to know the corresponding length.
Voilà:

So placing the bed about 30–40cm (12–16 inches) away from the wall should be more than enough and won’t feel cramped.
But are you sure that’s the interior measurement of the knee wall? Not the eaves height!
(that’s something I’ve mixed up before...)
And remember to take wall thickness into account!

And keep the wall thickness in mind!In this case, that would actually be favorable because it would practically mean that the desired height is already measured at the inside of the exterior wall.
