Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Incredible, but in the middle of the night, some tenants have already moved in well before the planned date. The door was open / unlocked. How cheeky—what should I do about them? Can I evict parents with several children? The house is not even "ready for occupancy" yet. I think I managed to photograph the mother along with some "furniture." Maybe someone recognizes her (known problem tenants)?

Many birds nest for a much shorter time than one might initially think. Perhaps you can research the species. It might be resolved on its own within 7–14 days (about 1–2 weeks).

If there are no eggs yet, personally, I would be ruthless.

Definitely! 1.5 to 2 square meters (16 to 22 square feet). Speaking from unfortunate experience.

About 5 pieces of each type to stay consistent within the same batch — same goes for the roof tiles. In 18 years living in the old house, we never needed replacement tiles, but you never know. If there’s a bigger damage, redoing might be necessary, and then we’ll just pick new ones.

I’ve been thinking about keeping some tiles "in reserve" as well. With 120cm x 120cm (47 inches by 47 inches) tiles, that’s easier said than done.

I was also thinking about stocking some tiles in advance. At 120cm x 120cm (47 inches x 47 inches), that's quite a challenge.
They wouldn't even fit through our attic hatch.

Oh man, we also get birds inside the house several times a day -.- They love sitting on the loops of the ceiling lamp cables.

Have fun when the little ones hatch—they’ll poop all over everything. I know this from my parents; they had this problem quite often.

Then you simply place something underneath.
