What is this :OThis is a dance game by Konami, mainly popular in Japan and the US under the name "Dance Dance Revolution," or "DDR" for short. In Europe, it was released as "Dancing Stage," but with limited success. For home use, they often offered cheap, foldable dance mats. Those are only suitable for beginners. Once you play at an advanced level, you can forget about those. First, you’ll break them within two weeks, and second, they are frustratingly imprecise, flimsy, and slip around. That’s why I got metal pads instead. They are closer to the arcade version (though still far off) and allow you to play at higher difficulty levels. 🙂

Awesome! I’m looking forward to setting up an old CRT in my basement for my SNES. I don’t have space for it yet, and the SNES has gathered quite a bit of dust.
Kids’ rooms will be empty soon anyway, so I’ll set up a clean VR room there first.Very cool, I don’t have a VR system yet, but it’s on the way. I’m also setting up a retro game room upstairs in another room. That’s where the SNES and other consoles will go. I still need a CRT for it, but I already have the space. You can usually get one for free these days. I’d like a nice Sony Trinitron or something similar, with 50Hz. So I’m keeping an eye out on local classifieds.
The dance game doesn’t go in the game room because it needs too much space. We turned the guest room into a workout room. That’s where we dance, and my husband is setting up a small home gym. When guests come, we put the bed up there, store the dance pads under the bed, and put dumbbells and such in the corner, and voilà, it’s a guest room, even with a TV. 😉
This way, we make better use of the space. Keeping the guest room only for guests felt like a waste of space. You can use the room well on the 350 days a year when there are no overnight guests. From my experience, dedicated guest rooms without other uses often end up as dumping grounds. ^^

I played it for the first time since my pregnancy yesterday, and wow, I’m completely out of shape. The best comparison might be jumping rope. Later on, there are very fast arrow sequences and often two arrows on the same beat, so you have to jump—using just one foot won’t cut it. 🙂
On which platform is "Beats" available? Or what would you recommend? Rift or PS4 VR or something else entirely?
I once gave my ex an Oculus Rift for Christmas. The recommendation was to take it easy if you’re not used to it. But he played a space shooter with lots of loops for 30 minutes straight, then spent an hour on the couch feeling very nauseous. 😀
Perhaps a new trend in homebuilding?
Virtual space matters – home staging in VR – at the push of a button, almost like a window seat with a lake view in the basement cavity.
Maybe @Mellina and @rick2018 could have their houses 3D scanned for the housebuilding forum community ;-)
