Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

So, the network cabinet is now installed. All the cables have been connected, and this week I plan to complete the distribution cabinet. I will also order another dimmer actuator. I initially planned for only 8 channels, but those are already fully used, and I could still use at least 4 more.

At the top, we can’t shift it or make it larger due to the symmetry.

Nonsense. Everyone notices a 5cm (2 inches) deviation from alignment, but only a watchmaker might see a 5cm (2 inches) deviation from symmetry. Do it now, while the lintels are not yet installed.

Only a watchmaker can really notice the asynchrony.

I usually share very few pictures, but I always enjoy looking at yours! Regarding doors, here’s one from our living room that I’m simply head over heels for. We have the same door throughout the house, but without the glass panels. Our house was built in 1921.

The flooring was, I believe, from Parador, but in any case, it’s a good quality laminate with extra-wide planks that really looks like real wood. After 3 years of heavy use (dog, 2 cats, and 2 children now aged 5 and 7), we are still very happy with it. And yes, I know wallpaper is a matter of personal taste, but I still love it even after 3 years!

Looks good. However, two questions: Is the precast concrete ceiling left unfinished? The gap between the network cabinet and the door frame seems quite tight to fit a door frame—is that correct or just an illusion?

Is there a specific reason why a different type of insulation was used around the basement window?
