sauerpeter11 Dec 2017 12:32Hello everyone,
I have done some research, but unfortunately not all of my questions were answered or could be answered.
In some places, I have several colorful wires hanging from the wall or ceiling, and I am wondering what they are all for and how I can connect a lamp to them.
What I know so far:
blue to blue
brown to brown
green/yellow to green/yellow (if the lamp is not metal, this connection can be omitted)
That’s my current understanding... I know, it's pretty minimal.
I have attached two pictures, one from the bathroom and one from the hallway. I am really unsure here—maybe you can tell me how to connect all these colorful wires to the lamp, and why are there two blue, two brown, and two yellow wires in the hallway? Is it for connecting two lamps?

toxicmolotof11 Dec 2017 12:45Better ask the person who set this up.
The hallway looks like something has been dragged through it (additional light points? Two-way switch?).
The bathroom wiring has 5 cores (+ gray + black). Is there a double switch? Any other reasons?

sauerpeter11 Dec 2017 14:04So, the plan for the bathroom was to install a mirror cabinet that 1. has its own light and 2. an integrated socket, which still needs to be connected.
The mirror cabinet light is intended to be controlled via a two-way switch.
Is this compatible with the existing wiring?
In the hallway, we have a total of 2 lighting connections, with one in another location since the hallway is relatively large.

So, the bathroom has two lights: a ceiling light and a mirrored cabinet light. Both can be controlled independently. Is that why there is a 5-core cable?
If so, how do I connect them together? Where do the two additional wires go? Or are they for the power outlet in the mirrored cabinet?
Are the existing cables suitable for this?
In the hallway, we have a total of two lamp connections, plus one more at another spot since the hallway is quite large. Sorry, the quotation did not work correctly here.
