Please don’t be so harsh about the staircase. It’s not a showstopper, but it’s a solid and timeless solution. I don’t think it’s that bad.
I definitely find it better than something very trendy that might seem great for two years and then you can’t stand it anymore. For example, I remember when railings always had to include some graphic ornaments, like blue glass diamonds set in stainless steel or something similar. Looking back at that now makes me cringe. This staircase will probably never be a big statement, but in a few years, it won’t give you eye strain either. It’s functional and stays in the background.

hampshire12 Jul 2019 10:11@Climbee: It’s great to see how well your concept is coming together.
Try looking for Jan Kurtz. There is a model called Dina.
Handles are not just a matter of cost but also personal preference. I share the same view as @Climbee and prefer handles. Drawers that open when you lean on them are extremely annoying. Motors tend to be slow and inconvenient. Additionally, handles also help visually organize surfaces. Sometimes you’re just lucky to find the more affordable solution also works better.

What I’m still looking for are small side tables that are easily reachable while sitting—because reaching for a regular living room table is impractical.
Something like this:

Not in that style, but similar in function.

I was even more surprised when I saw the handles on the kitchen?

I also didn’t want push-to-open mechanisms or recessed handles for the reasons already mentioned here.
When choosing the handles, we actually ended up saving even more than planned, because we didn’t like the often popular bar handles in the preview.
I was happy with every purchase when we liked the cheaper option better anyway than the expensive one.
Still, we quite often went for the expensive choice...

benutzer 100412 Jul 2019 11:29Even if you cook a lot, it is always a question of whether the kitchen is located in an open-plan living area and therefore visible almost 24/7, or if it is in a separate room... In an open-plan space, appearance is sometimes prioritized over function.
No, really not. What good is the most beautiful kitchen if I can only take nice photos of it, but every time I cook, I get a little fit of rage because I constantly accidentally open drawers.
Industrial design is all the rage right now – it puts function front and center!
I believe good design always includes high functionality. If I have to sacrifice function for design, then I’m not interested.
