I don’t dress things up in stories, and I don’t use supposed humor either.
It’s a fact that an architect who is clearly careless or a poor listener to the client should not be dismissed only at work phase 5 or later—the sooner, the better. The issue here is usually that one depends on a general contractor (GC), so there is no direct contact with the draftsperson or architect authorized to approve drawings... this forum exists for those caught in that cloud, to make the best of standardized options and individual possibilities... Therefore, the client should not be blamed for things beyond their control.
Work phase 5 or phases 1–4 don’t really matter here. A versatile user in this forum can and should differentiate this when providing criticism.
Still, of course, if planning errors are noticed, they should be communicated. That’s what this forum is for.
When it comes to criticizing a kitchen design: it’s not necessary to post about it here if you’re not asked... but you can. That’s my opinion.
Nevertheless, this is a thread for pictures... if the kitchen is to be discussed, then @blaupuma can post the kitchen in the linked thread.
Yes, folks: there are other threads here that could also benefit from your input.
To get back to the main topic here: Although there’s no photo of the new build yet, progress is slowly becoming visible — still, at this stage, the demolition of the old building is underway. I spent quite a long time on site yesterday watching the crew at work. It’s always impressive to see the power behind the machines. An older neighbor stopped by and commented, “That’s where the family’s house was…” It does make you reflect a bit on all the stories that are being torn down along with the building — and there must have been many since it was built in 1963.
