That’s why I had the photovoltaic system explicitly included in the building application, along with the corresponding representation in the planning submission. This way, the neighbors can’t complain afterwards with their signatures. There are two streets and one parking lot in between. They wouldn’t even have been asked.
That’s just how it is.

So that the neighbors cannot complain afterwards by signing. To what extent does a neighbor's signature on a building permit / planning permission application exempt the builder from complying with the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG)?

This way, the neighbors can’t complain afterward by signing off. That was very prudent. However, to complain you don’t need to be logical or in the right. If something bothers someone, they will complain, regardless of whether the concern is justified or not.

That’s true as well. Although the development area is designed with the slope so that my roof, with its 22 degrees, shouldn’t cause any glare. Our photovoltaic system is positioned highest. All other houses are located lower down, and on the opposite slope there is a forest that will never be developed. But that’s just a side note.Regarding construction progress:
- The screed is drying
- After Easter, the facade will be finished and the scaffolding removed
- As already mentioned, the joints will be filled and primed
- The outdoor landscaping will be done this year. My construction coordinator wanted us to choose paving stones from the building materials wholesaler. We liked paving stones costing €55 per square meter (sqm) (55€ per QM) (about $55 per sq ft). (Note: keep only metric units per instructions) When I told him about the price, he called and said he would order through his customer account instead. The final price was €32 per square meter (sqm) (32€ per QM).
I really think that’s outrageous. What a two-tier system. Small homeowners get completely ripped off.
So? Bulk discounts are available everywhere. Otherwise, the volume of your paving wouldn't justify taking on the project at all. After all, the word wholesale is in building materials wholesale.
I’m more curious about what type of paving it is. Natural stone? Probably not concrete at that price?!
