Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Our ground floor masonry is now completed, and today we are starting with the intermediate ceiling. I'm looking forward to seeing how the rooms feel with and without the ceiling.

Included are views from the street as well as through all the street-facing windows and from the garden.

Construction site with block-shaped walls, scaffolding, barrier tape, concrete mixer on the left and crane on the right.

Construction site inside: scaffolding, white concrete walls, wooden beams, and yellow site container in the back.

Construction site: scaffolding supports between concrete blocks, ladder leaning against wall, wet floor.

Construction site: interior with support scaffolding made of scaffold pipes, white blocks, wet floor.

Construction site with concrete walls, wooden beams, scaffolding supports and steel reinforcement; crane in the background.

The chimney is now built, and soon the plasterer will start applying lime-cement plaster throughout the entire house.

Scaffolding around a light brick house with a dark tiled roof; orange downspout lying nearby.

Interior view of an unfinished building: shell walls, wooden roof structure, cables, and construction elements.

In our practical northern region, this house is a real eye-catcher and the reason for this window, because it gives a holiday vibe

Haha, then @Climbee could install a webcam and pay off their house and the neighbor's one with the clicks from the northerners.

Just south of Hamburg, Yvonne probably thinks of the sober north, but here up on Fehmarn, we're never sober. - Double grain spirit keeps us moving forward.

Well, if the house can be financed like that... but I’m not sure how attractive that is: the two windows opposite belong to the teenage kids – so the view is of messy bedrooms (although one of them always keeps the shutters closed). Will that really bring in money???

But I have something else here. The question was once how underfloor heating is installed if it’s not embedded in screed.
Like this:

Underfloor heating being installed: heating mats between wooden battens, cables visible.

Unfortunately, we are not at that stage yet, but this is how it will look.

And are the floorboards laid directly on the joists? Nice solution – I need to remember that for low-profile floor constructions with floorboards, underfloor heating, and as much insulation as possible.
