Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Camouflage house? Is it located in the city center or at the edge of the forest?
The forest is actually only a few hundred meters (a few hundred yards) away. We prefer yellow to red brick when paired with green windows.

For us, the windows and doors will be dark green (fir), the bricks dark yellow (with black spots), and the clay roof tiles dark green.

Igittohgott (or vice versa). A Villa Kunterbunt in the colorblind edition as well

There was also the standard color "red," so why not anthracite if someone prefers it much more?

On one hand, it is a logical development that the trend from traditional roof tiles to concrete roof tiles also reflects in the coloring. But the "tar paper" shade doesn’t really suit a roof covered with tiles. In my opinion, that kind of color belongs to slate roofs.

Dark gray or anthracite-colored, but shaped like roof tiles – I think that’s like using a wine glass for beer.

Such clashing results show that the idea behind development plans—to create aesthetic harmony through parametric mandatory (and forbidden) definitions—can only be moderately successful in practice.

You know, Thies, I think you look quite "old-fashioned" here. The outdated color combinations are slowly going out of style. A bit more color tolerance would be desirable.

My neighbor has terracotta-glazed Mediterranean roof tiles in a light orange-beige on their townhouse. I see it every day. It hasn’t harmed me yet… I think.

Or the current everyone’s-megahype is something that won’t work tomorrow.

Until then, new roof tiles will be needed anyway.

No, the classic clay tiles can easily last a century.
