Yes, you can't make everything perfect everywhere. It is advisable to place the bathroom on the east side since you're usually in the bathroom early in the morning and the sun rises in the east. But your architect has surely taken all of that into account.

Have you considered a folding glass wall? Of course, that would cost a bit more.

That would really have blown the budget, especially since the whole thing was supposed to meet KFW40 standards... I’m not very knowledgeable about that. I understand the price is interesting, but my partner and I are quite well known here, so I prefer not to share exact figures publicly. If anyone’s interested, please contact me via private message. You built two houses with 190 sqm (2045 sq ft) of living space each, plus a pool, wow... that makes our 150 sqm (1615 sq ft) house for three people seem really small.
Another question: do you all have aluminum window sills or natural stone on the outside?
I’m still undecided... and are the natural stone window sills from the hardware store any good, or should you order them from a stonemason?
