Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The concrete slab is always quite impressive. We seriously considered whether it would be enough to serve as a doghouse for the dog.

We have a staircase.
Light wooden staircase indoors, railing on the left attached to the wall, view looking down.

What color? And what kind of steps?

Hello Katja,

we quickly agreed on the steps. They will be engineered oak. We will decide on the color of the metal structure after our appointment with the painter. Until then, the shade will be passionately discussed. It will probably be a whitish black with a slight silver tint, or a blackish white-gray, or maybe an aluminum-colored anthracite-like white. In any case, it remains exciting.

Best regards

Höki, the roof structure looks awesome! When did you start construction?

Our ground floor masonry was completed yesterday. On Wednesday, the precast concrete floor will be installed. Luckily, the real shell shock didn’t occur, but the children’s rooms aren’t very large, averaging 12sqm (130 sq ft). In our old house, some were only 9, 10, and 11sqm (97, 108, and 118 sq ft). So we were prepared for that. Still, being surrounded by the bare walls feels a bit “boxed in” [emoji23]

We felt the same way. We kept thinking maybe we should have made it smaller, or that it’s too small and it will never fit. Somehow, things feel different during the shell phase. We have two children’s rooms that are exactly the same size, but they feel completely different in size. Some people clearly misjudged it.

Hello Arifas,
the foundation slab was poured in mid-January, then winter came. Masonry work started on March 12. According to the construction schedule, the house should be finished by the end of July. We hope everything goes as planned.
Best regards
