Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Tight schedule. It could get tight if you consider a drying time of 6 to 8 weeks for the screed. Before that, there’s still electrical installation, plumbing, underfloor heating, interior plastering... plus a few public holidays in between...

Still, best of luck—I’m keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly. [emoji4]

Hello Arifas,
the foundation slab was poured in mid-January, then winter arrived. Masonry work started on March 12. According to the construction schedule, the house should be finished by the end of July. We hope that goes as planned.
Best regards
Björn
Wow! That’s incredibly fast!

I’m really curious to see how things go for us. The ground floor masonry is complete, and the ceiling will be installed on Wednesday. Supposedly, windows and roofing will start in 2–3 weeks. But our completion guarantee is only set for the end of the year, even though that is supposed to be the latest handover date.
We’ll see.

Our site handover was on 27.03.2017, house completed on 29.07.2017.
It’s possible when you have a reliable company working on it. Including the screed and its drying time.

The schedule is really tight but, according to the construction timeline, very well coordinated with hardly any breaks. So far, the company has reliably met the deadlines as per their references. The windows are scheduled to arrive at the end of April, and the screed will be installed in mid-May.
We have been positively surprised so far. We need to move out of our house by the end of August. Otherwise, we would have a problem...

Whether a reliable home construction company would build that quickly is an interesting question. It still seems (too) fast to me, but maybe possible with a prefabricated house. I would be skeptical with traditional brick-and-mortar construction. How much residual moisture did your screed have when the floor covering was installed?
Don’t get me wrong, I wish you all the best; this is not meant to be critical. I’m just doubtful about the short drying time.

We will have fast-drying screed. Furthermore, until the house is completed, only the tiles will be installed. Our vinyl flooring will not be delivered until early August. Eight weeks of drying time with the help of construction dryers should be sufficient. It was no different with our current house.
