Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Dear friends of house building,

after a long period without updates due to the weather, I can now report that the steel stringer staircase has been installed. Finally, we can move through the shell construction from the basement to the ground floor without using a ladder.

The stairs will be fully painted only after the plastering is done and the screed has been installed. The final treads will also be fitted then. The current ones are still quite rough.

Best regards

We didn’t have that kind of luxury during our shell construction...

Our contractors are now making great progress. The roof frame is already set up, and we are happily heading toward our topping-out ceremony.
House construction site: wooden roof structure surrounded by scaffolding, shell of the house.

Construction site: single-family house receiving roof frame, scaffolding around it; car on the right.

Axel, great staircase [emoji847]

Höki, the roof structure looks fantastic! When did your construction start?

Our ground floor has been fully built since yesterday. The precast concrete slab is coming on Wednesday. Fortunately, the real shell shock didn’t happen, but the kids’ rooms, averaging 12sqm (130 sq ft), are not very large. In our old house, some were only 9, 10, and 11sqm (97, 108, and 118 sq ft). So, luckily, we were prepared for that. But the shell already feels a bit “walled in” [emoji23]

For us, depending on the stage of construction, the impression regularly switched between "Wow, this is huge" and "Wow, this looks quite small." With plaster and light colors, it appeared large again, so don't be surprised.

By the way, the stairs are only fully painted after the plastering is done and the screed is installed. That’s also when the proper treads are installed. The current ones are quite rustic.
What color? And what kind of treads?
