Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The shower looks like this (still without the built-in cabinet and shower screen):

A corner shower with black frames, glass sliding doors, handheld showerhead, and white tiles.

Modern shower: gray concrete walls, patterned tile wall, rain shower and handheld shower, niche

Unfinished interior: concrete wall with niche, patterned tile wall on the right, open passage.

The railing is painted black. It has some advantages: it can be easily touched up and it is cheaper. According to my metalworker, powder coating the railing would have been very complicated because it is so large. I like the look, even if some paint chips off occasionally, it matches the fireplace even better then.

Your metalworker definitely misled you there. Powder coating is quite simple and relatively affordable. He probably just didn’t have the right equipment for it…
I have a similar-sized and much more complex railing. It was no problem at all…

Yeah, much better. That plain gray with those 70s patterned tiles... you just don’t see that anymore. The accents with the black frames and the green fixtures... very modern!

😉

Bathroom on the ground floor with 3 sqm (the pictures are labeled accordingly here as well 🙂)

Bathroom: shower with black frame, toilet, sink, plant, and towel.

Modern bathroom with wall-mounted toilet, glass shower enclosure, handheld shower, and sink.

Simple? Well... 🙂 I know the effort involved with garage doors...

Good thing the pictures are properly labeled! Although... green fixtures? Bold choice of color! 🙂
(strictly speaking, the fixtures are green-purple)

There is no easier method to apply a coating uniformly on a structure like a railing, which has many edges and weld seams.

My steel stringers were painted—three thick coats in total. It was very time-consuming, partly because of the drying times.

By comparison, powder coating is a simpler process.

It is also much more durable overall.
