Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

We have now been living in our house for seven years. The garden has become lush, and the trees in the front yard have grown significantly…
Single-family house with covered terrace, seating area under roof, colorful garden flowers.

Paved garden path between light-colored houses, flanked by trees and flower beds, sunny.

View of a well-maintained home with front yard, paved path, and flower beds.

Garden with greenhouse, gravel areas, trees, flowering beds and shrubs under a sunny sky.

Paved path by the house, on the left flower beds and shrub beds, on the right window front and gravel strip.

Dear Forum,

I’m finally posting something after following this forum for a long time.

Last September, we bought a holiday house with a larger plot of land on an Italian island. Since then, we have been renovating gradually, depending on time, budget, the availability of tradespeople, and circumstances. Just last week, we finally installed a new kitchen. I had thought about creating a dedicated thread for it. Maybe some of you will find it interesting, and it will also serve as a useful record for us. I’m sure questions will come up. For now, here are a few initial photos to bring this thread to life, which I also enjoy following.

Small country house in a garden with fruit trees, cypress trees, and blue sky.

Small house in an orange grove, surrounded by orange trees, golden evening light, blue sky.

Small kitchen with green wooden cabinets, sink, glass fronts, glass display cabinet, and patterned tiles.

Mediterranean house with red window shutter, olive tree, and stone wall in the garden.

Exterior view of a house with wooden doors, white wrought iron fence, and garden.

Best regards

Cool, beautiful houses here! It would be great if the thread continues like this regularly. I’m sure everyone can still find some inspiration.

After moving into our older house with a lovely garden in December/January, here are a few pictures from our place. I’ll probably add some interior shots later, as I haven’t found any recent ones since everything was completed (lights, etc.).
We fully renovated the ground floor, and now I’m working on updating the basement rooms (electrical work, windows, partial painting).
In spring, we greened the balcony again and added a water supply system using a groundwater pump, so now we can water both the upper balcony and the garden below.
Bright open kitchen area with island, dining table, large windows, and a bowl of fruit.

Bright dining area: wooden table with four chairs by large windows; plants on the windowsill.

Garden with green lawn, shrubs, and trees in front of a two-story house with balcony.

Garden with green lawn, tall fir trees in the background, red bush in the middle, pink blossoms.

Gravel path in the garden leads to a rose arch with pink flowers, large tree trunk on the left, dense greenery on the right.

Garden with lawn, two beds covered with nets, blooming roses along the house wall.

Exterior view of a white house with balcony, garden, and bougainvillea.

Since we moved into our old building with a lovely garden in December/January, here are a few pictures from our side. I’ll probably need to share some interior shots later—I haven’t found any recent ones since everything was completed (lighting…).
We completely renovated the ground floor, and I’m currently updating the basement rooms (electrical work, windows, partly painting).
In spring, we greened the balcony again and retrofitted a groundwater pump to provide water, so now we can irrigate both upstairs and the garden below.

What kind of lamps/recessed spotlights do you have in your kitchen? Could they happen to be the Ribag Vior? They look like that somehow. If so, how well do they illuminate the space? Would one of them be enough to light a 10m² (3.2m x 3.2m / 34ft²) room? If not, which ones are they, and the same question regarding their lighting performance?

They are exactly the ones you described.

I can take a photo at night to show you how it looks in our kitchen. The kitchen is quite bright, but we have three fixtures in the hallway with about 15m² (161ft²). So I think one might be a bit tight.

Below is the lighting info.

Ceiling light Ribag VIOR white with converter, 12W, 2700K, IP54
